Guirylene’s career began in 1998, when she worked as a Registered Nurse at Rikers Island Prison, providing care to incarcerated individuals. This experience honed her ability to manage healthcare in a challenging environment, collaborating with correctional staff to improve inmate health outcomes. Afterward, Guirylene joined Christiana Care Visiting Nurses, where she spent over a decade (2006–2019) monitoring and caring for patients in home settings. Here, she refined her skills in health assessments, patient care, and medical record management.

In 2019, Guirylene transitioned to advanced nursing roles, becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner at Family Care Associates. She conducts comprehensive health assessments, develops patient care plans, and treats both acute and chronic health conditions.
